I see this and the problem is that the VC redist that shipped with the Steam version of the game is older then what recently came out with Windows Update and it fails to run because it is a older version then what is installed on your machine.

Have you tried Verifying Integrity of Game Cache and Defragmentation Cahce Files?

Anyone got a clue why that would happen?It shows me playing RAGE for a few seconds and then not anymore.
