(NOTICE: THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR ALL MODS!)So a lot of people have questions regarding installing mods or multiple mods for Kingdoms, specifically Third Age or Call of Warhammer. So, here's a simple guide to answer those questions:1. Create a folder with the mods name on your desktop2. Install the mod, fully, to that folder.3. Go into your /steam/steamapps/common/Medieval 2 folder4. Put the desktop folder you created into the mods folder6. Rename one of the vanilla campaigns(Americas, Britannia, Crusades, Teutonic) to whatever the hell you want to, it cant be the original.7.

Now rename the mod folder to the EXACT original campaigns folder name(NOTE: PLEASE Make sure if the mod contains a launch config and a.bat file that they are correct!)(Optional) Repeat for other mods8. Launch that campaign through steam.9. Enjoy!Hope this clears up anything! For those new to Kingdoms, please note; you need to run 'Verify Game Cache' upon install to add the latest Steam patch before the game appears to play properly.

The 'DCL' doesn't automatically include this.Make sure the basic vanilla game is working properly before you attempt to add a mod. If a mod is not 'mod foldered' (the decent ones will say if they are or not), then it can edit core game files that will require a full clean install since the verify seems to check for the existence of necessary/missing files not whether the file has been edited. Most fantasy style mods do this, so they make traditional mods unplayable when added to the game. Some mod foldered games automatically create the necessary mod folder from unpacking in the 'Medieval II Total War/Mods' folder, therefore the process above may create folder duplication and should be watched for.Mod folder names are also CASE SENSITIVE, your creation needs to be precise.Hope this helps. For the 'kingsdoms.exe' starter, you may need to edit the 'Start in' string; the mod install instructions should cover that.Another common error is to 'copy' and 'paste' the 'medieval2.exe' when you need to right click and 'create shortcut' since you aren't copying to make two starters, you are effectively renaming the original one by linking it with a different source ('kingdoms.exe')As I understand it, that starter won't work until you move to desktop.CoW appears to have quite a common number of issues, it hasn't been mod tested at MTWGG, so I can't comment on it specifically.

However, the new rulers of England have swiftly replaced and improved the taxation system so as to replenish their coffers in quick time. Most importantly, William the Conqueror came with the support of the Pope, as well as a mixed force of well-trained infantry, archers and heavy cavalry. England's new masters have a more modern approach to the art of warfare, and the will to utilise the country's rich resources to maximum effect. The English court may now speak French, but the Normans certainly don't consider their new conquest a French territory. This independence in England, plus the proximity of Normandy to other lands the French monarchy consider their own, makes France an immediate and obvious threat to deal with.

The ever stubborn Scottish also prevent the King of England from having uncontested control of the British Isles.Though they presently face trouble on multiple fronts, the English are in a rather promising position. The Scots to the north are isolated from the rest of Europe, and should be easy to wear down without a strong ally from the mainland. The French royal forces are more than a match for the armies in Normandy, but they also have enough fronts to deal with right now that they are unlikely to be able to drive them from the continent anytime soon.Facebook Comments.
