I've been having this issue on and off for a while. Hi,One of the possible reasons why you are experiencing this error is due tonormal.dotm file corruption. To address your concern, we suggest that you delete thenormal.dotm file. Microsoft Word will automatically recreate a new normal.dotm fileonce it is relaunched. It is located in the hidden folder C:UsersUser NameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftTemplates.To be able to view this folder, you have to tick the Show Hiddenfiles, folders and drives radio button in Control Panel.
To do so, follow these steps:. Press Windows button + X, then click Control Panel. Using the Search option on the upper right corner of Control Panel window, type File Explorer Options. Click File Explorer Options.

The error message indicates you have a file that has been 'corrupted', become unreadable by Word. The 'Line 0 character 0' means that the corruption is very early in the file structure. It is actually before the body document is loaded!Normally it would be 'Line 2 character???' Is some insanely large number which we are expected to count in to.

I don't know, I have never used LibreOffice, though I do know that in some cases a document that could not be opened in Word and was uploaded to the users Google Drive, could then be opened in Google Docs and from there be downloaded as a Word file and thencould be opened in Word.In the case of LibreOffice corrupted documents, I have seen maybe a dozen now that could not be opened in Word because of the duplicate attributes issue and it has only been with LibreOffice documents that that error has occurred.
