I can no longer left-click using the touchpad button on my laptop. The actual touchpad works fine, and so does the right click button. I use the touchpad button quite frequently, so this has become very frustrating. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.I have tried shutting my computer down and removing the battery, and I have also tried removing the powercord.

Neither worked.I have an Asus notebook, Vista 64-bit.I'm not very computer-savvy, so please keep that in mind when you reply.

If the box that appears when you open the mouse properties doesn't say anything about dell then you need to install the driver for the touchpad. To do this go to and then click 'Enter a Tag', then enter your service tag, which can be found on the underside of your computer, into the box and click 'Go'. After selecting the operating system that is running on the machine click the little + icon next to 'Imput Device Drivers' and once that expands download and install the one that says 'Dell - Driver Applies to Touchpad / Pointing Stick'. Once it is installed the computer may need to restart.Posted on Jun 08, 2009.

Dell Touchpad Left Click Not Working

Touchpad

Select the tab “Dell Touchpad”. If the left-click of your Mouse is not working even after performing all the steps mentioned above, it is possible that there is a hardware fault on your device. Mice are used all the time and it is not new to know that one might stop working.
